Who We Are

A student team that answers to a stopwatch.

Cornell Racing is a student-run engineering team that designs, manufactures, tests, and races a full electric formula-style car every season. There's no professor grading the result — the car either finishes the endurance event or it doesn't, and that's the standard every subteam builds to.

Members join as first-years with no experience and leave having run a CAD model through manufacturing, torqued it onto a rolling chassis, and stood on pit wall while it's driven at speed. It's the closest thing Cornell has to a real engineering job, run entirely by undergrads.

Every member sits on a subteam with real ownership over a system of the car — no busywork, no shadowing. First-years ship parts that race by spring.
